Rising costs for railway infrastructure investments
2007-08-02 16:08:58 | source: Polish Market
PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, a company from the PKP group responsible for managing railway infrastructure, has provided the Ministry of Transport with an up-to-date cost estimate for planned investments connected with the Euro 2012 tournament.
PKP’s calculations are now almost €700m higher than the figure anticipated in the “Infrastructure and Environment” operational programme. The higher costs are due to additional investments for Euro 2012 as well as the fact that they must be completed before the tournament kicks off. The cost estimate also takes into account the increasing costs of labour and construction materials. Earlier calculations had provided for a budget of €6.235bn, but this sum will probably now rise to roughly €10bn, Puls Biznesu reported.
